Rogues Read Books Too: Introduction to Fan-Tasi

Now, I'll be introducing the characters for Fan-Tasi (Fantasy.) 
And if you weren't here for the last character reveal, I'll remind you!

And what is the setting of this game of D&D? Glad you asked!
The lands of Bookia is under attack! The Genres (the rulers of their respective domains) have summoned the best of the best to fight the evil rival empire of Technologia whose people are dedicated to eradicating and turning obsolete the wonderful land of Bookia. But as the Genres don't mix well, these fighters are a motley group of healers, warriors, and wizards.

And now...for the main event.

The introduction of the first set of characters! I'll be dividing the team up into genres and introducing them one by one. 


Sydney from Vicious by VE Schwab
Race: Halfling
Class: Mage
Alignment: Neutral Evil

Backstory: Sydney is kept as the Fan-Tasi monarch’s pet ever since she revealed healing powers. She was originally born in the outskirts of Mayick with her sister taking care of her. She was snatched by a Fan-Tasi soldier who heard rumors of a healer. He brought Sydney to the palace to take care of the weak princess. After the princess died, the monarch kept Sydney even though she blamed Sydney for the princess’s death. Sydney meets Victor one day when she wanders through the palace, trying to find the kitchens because she is starving. Victor takes her as his apprentice to save her from the monarch’s torture. The monarch gives up Sydney to become a representative to get rid of her.

Backstory: Victor was raised by two parents who didn’t particularly care for him. He internalized all his thoughts until he went to get an apprenticeship. He wanted to live in Sciencia Fiection, but he knew that the monarch would never let an elf live there. The people of Sciencia Fiection hate magic. He began to conduct secret experiments with his ally Eli a human who wanted to be an elf. One day, he created an experiment that got the Fan-Tasi’s monarch’s attention. He was invited to the palace to conduct his magical experiments and lives there.

Race: Half-elf
Class: Cleric
Alignment: Neutral

Backstory: Nina was raised in squalor in the slums of Lifeblood. She was taught to dampen her natural talents for blood magic. Her parents forced her to swear allegiance to the goddess of Lifeblood Heria or the goddess of life. She channeled Heria’s powers. When she turned thirteen, she ran away the temple. She lived in Port of Contempt until Fan-Tasi officials came and snatched her away from her life there to be a representative.


Adelina Amouteru from The Young Elites by Marie Lu
Race: Drow
Class: Sorcerer
Alignment: Chaotic Evil
Strength: 10

Backstory: Adelina was raised in a quiet manor nowhere near any large city in Fan-Tasi. She was abused as a child. Her sister did nothing to defend her, and Adelina grew to harbor resentment against her sister. One day, she was sentenced to death because her father had mysteriously died. She broke free of her chains and went on the run. She stumbled into Lifeblood and fell in love with the mayor’s son. The boy was killed, though, in a battle against spies of Technologia and she went on a rampage. When Fan-Tasi searched for more representatives, Adelina volunteered, vowing revenge.
